My wife was printing this am, and someone accessed my hp 9010 printer from the internet,  set up an admin id/pw, and turned on firmware updates, which disabled my printer because I use other brand print cartridges.  I cannot get access via the printer to reset the defaults and turn off firmware updated, because the admin ID and PW have been reset, and I've tried everything I see out there, but it will not allow me to restore to defaults or reset the id/pw without knowing it.  Is this something HP did?

Hello,

You will need to follow the instructions below to solve this issue:

  1. On the front panel of the printer, click four times on the location of the back arrow(the arrow is inactive).
  2. A hidden menu will appear, click Support menu.
  3. Scroll down to Reset Menu, and validate with OK.
  4. Scroll down to Semi-Full reset, and validate with OK.
  5. The printer will shut down, please restart it.
  6. Please reconfigure the printer.

Don't hesitate to contact me in case of need.

Bets regards,
