I would like to inquire whether or not I can store the printer back in it's box with ink in it?

Yes. For how long do you plan to store it? The ink will dry if the printer is not used regularly.

I don't know for how long. But how long can I store it, before the ink starts to dry out?

2 weeks depending on the environment.  It's better to leave a printer with someone to use it all the time.
