I get blue stripes, top - down, on my scanned copies. What can be wrong?

When you open your scanner, see there is the large glass (platen) and the small , narrow glass. Clean it with a tissue and alcohol. As the glass is dirty and the paper slides against it it registers a line.  

Just a electronics enthusiast trying to fix everything.
