Upon receipt of a final shipment of ink cartridges, I decided to terminate my member as I was receiving more cartridges than needed. However, 3+ weeks latter, suddenly I get a message on my printer that I cannot use the cartridge, and my printer is locked up & unusable. I cannot find a phone number to contact a live person to resolve this matter, thus I was forced to turn to the “community” in hopes of resolving this. This is **bleep**.

I am sorry this happened.
It was self-inflicted.
What?
Cancellation of the Instant Ink subscription service also terminates your use of the Instant Ink cartridges.
Instant Ink cartridges remain the property of HP.
After termination of the contract / service, the Instant Ink cartridges are supposed to be returned to HP.
The full explanation is included in your Terms of Service contract in the Cancellation section of the document.
What?
The Instant Ink cartridges are provided at no extra charge to the subscription while that subscription is active.
After the subscription is terminated, the cartridges lock after the end of the last billing cycle and cannot be used.
What to do?
The Instant Ink cartridges must all be removed from the printer.
Purchase and Install a set of HP cartridges to use in your printer.
What else?
Contact Instant Ink support in your region using the contact information at the website OR in your Terms of Service contract.
