@BryBryJen, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP printer prints ink properly on test prints but downloaded files print blank, try these troubleshooting steps:
1. Check the File Itself
- Open the file in a different program (e.g., if it's a PDF, try Adobe Reader instead of the browser).
- Print a different downloaded file to see if the issue is with a specific document.
2. Update Printer Drivers
- Go to HP’ official website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Restart your computer and printer after installation.
3. Check Printer Settings
- Ensure that the correct paper type and print quality settings are selected.
- Set Print as Image (if available) in the print settings, especially for PDFs.
4. Try a Different File Format
- If printing a PDF, convert it to a Word or image file and try printing again.
5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor from HP support site.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and fix any issues.
6. Reset Printer
- Turn off the printer, unplug it for a minute, then restart it.
7. Check Ink Levels
- Ensure ink cartridges have sufficient ink, even if test prints work. Some settings may use different ink combinations.
If the issue persists, let me know your printer model and file type, and I’ll guide you further!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
