Hi @CameronEdgar,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the cyan color is not printing on your HP Tango X printer, here are the steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check Ink Levels

  • Open the HP Smart App on your Mac.
  • Check the ink levels for your cartridges. If the cyan cartridge is low or empty, replace it with a new, genuine HP cartridge.

2. Perform a Cleaning

  • Use the HP Smart App to perform a printhead cleaning:
    • Open the app.
    • Select your printer.
    • Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Print Quality Tools.
    • Choose Clean Printhead.
  • After cleaning, print a test page to check if cyan is now printing.

3. Inspect the Cartridge

  • Remove the cyan cartridge and inspect it for:
    • Ink leaks or damage.
    • Clogged nozzles (use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the contacts gently).
  • Reinsert the cartridge firmly and ensure it clicks into place.

4. Run a Diagnostic Print

  • Print a Print Quality Report:
    • Open HP Smart App.
    • Go to Printer Reports or Tools.
    • Select Print Quality Report.
  • Analyze the report for cyan issues. Look for missing lines or faded cyan sections.

5. Align the Printheads

  • Align the printheads to ensure proper ink distribution:
    • Use the HP Smart App and select Align Printheads under Printer Maintenance.

6. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your HP Tango X has the latest firmware:
    • Go to the HP Support website.
    • Download and install the latest firmware for your printer model.

7. Reset the Printer

  • Unplug the printer while it’s powered on.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and restart.

8. Test with Another Cartridge

  • If the issue persists, try replacing the cyan cartridge with a new, genuine HP cartridge to rule out cartridge defects.

9. Check for Blocked Vent

  • Inspect the small vent on top of the cyan cartridge:
    • If clogged, gently clean it with a pin or paperclip.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, the problem might be with the printhead itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
