@DGMick, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Paper jams can sometimes cause issues with ink distribution or printhead performance. Here are steps to help resolve the issue with blue ink not printing properly:
1. Check for Residual Paper Debris
Ensure that there are no leftover bits of paper from the jam. Sometimes small pieces can obstruct the printhead.
2. Clean Printheads
You can manually clean the printheads to improve ink distribution.
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Click on your printer to access its settings.
- Select “Print Quality Tools” or "Printer Maintenance."
- Run the “Clean Printheads” tool.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to clean and test the printheads.
3. Perform Printhead Alignment
Aligning the printheads can sometimes resolve color issues.
- From the “Print Quality Tools” or “Printer Maintenance” section, select “Align Printhead” or "Align Printer."
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Print Diagnostic Report
Printing a diagnostic report can help identify specific issues with the printheads.
- Select “Print Quality Diagnostic Report” from the printer app or printer's display.
- Review the report for any issues with the blue ink.
5. Check Ink Levels and Cartridge
Even though the blue cartridge is over half full, ensure that it is properly seated and has no issues.
- Remove the blue cartridge and inspect it for any damage or ink leakage.
- Reinstall the cartridge, making sure it clicks securely into place.
6. Update Printer Firmware
Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date, as updates can resolve printing issues.
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Check for firmware updates and install if available.
7. Perform Printer Reset
Resetting your printer can sometimes resolve issues.
- Turn off your printer.
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
I hope this helps.
