The printer was working fine for several months with Ink purchased from HP Store. I only have one printer. Today I get an error message "The indicated cartridge can only be used in the printer that initially used it and must be replaced".
This looks like a false positive on the cartridge detection software.
I'd like to call and talk to HP support but this printer is out of warranty.
I've seen a suggestion on the web to factory reset, but I'm afraid that would not clear the printers memory of cartridges.
I don't want to order more cartridges if there is a high chance that this will happen again.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I see that you are facing an issue with your printer related to ink cartridge.
A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
