The pages are coming out garbled when printing from the computer AND when copying.  The ink cartridges are full.  The internet connection is fine. There are no errors showing up on the printer.

@LeslieB1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Garbled Print Output on HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you are experiencing garbled print output on your HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer, whether printing from a computer or copying, here are steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue:

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Shut down your computer.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds and then turn on both devices.

Check Printer and Cartridge Alignment:

  • Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed.
  • Align the cartridges using the printer's menu options. This can often be found in the "Tools" or "Settings" menu.

Cleaning the Printhead:

  • Go to the printer software on your computer.
  • Access the HP Utility application.
  • Select "Print Quality Diagnostics" and follow the on-screen instructions to clean the printhead.

Update Printer Drivers and Software:

  • Visit the HP Support website and enter your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest printer software and drivers for macOS Monterey.

Check Paper Loading:

  • Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly with the printing side facing down.
  • Confirm that the paper-width guides are snug against the paper without causing it to bend.

Print Settings:

  • Check that the appropriate paper type and print quality settings are selected in the print dialog box.
  • In some cases, selecting a higher print quality setting or using "Best" quality can resolve the issue.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
