Hi @Grimthor,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2820e printer may have a misalignment issue when copying, causing the print to not be centered. Here are a few steps you can try to fix this issue.

Check Paper Alignment:

  • Ensure the paper is properly loaded into the input tray. Make sure the paper guides are adjusted correctly to hold the paper in place without being too tight or loose.

Printer Alignment Calibration:

  • Your printer might need to be aligned. Run an alignment process to ensure everything is printing correctly. Here’s how:
    1. Open the HP Smart app on your computer or phone.
    2. Select your printer from the list.
    3. Look for an option to perform Printer Maintenance or Alignment.
    4. Follow the instructions to align the printer.

Reset the Printer Settings:

  • If the alignment option didn’t resolve the issue, reset the printer settings:
    1. Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source for at least 1 minute.
    2. Plug it back in and turn it on.

Ensure Proper Margins in the Document:

  • If you’re copying from an original, make sure the original is placed properly on the scanner glass. Align it to the indicated corners or guides on the glass to avoid skewed or off-center copying.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or on the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
