Hi @Vlad103,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I can understand how disappointing it is to have a scanned picture that looks perfect on your screen but doesn’t print correctly. Let’s see if we can fix this issue together.
- Does this issue happen only when printing scanned pictures, or does it also occur with other print jobs like text documents or PDFs?
- Have you recently replaced or refilled any toner cartridges?
- Are you using the correct paper type for your print job, and is the paper loaded correctly?
Let's try these steps.
Check Toner Levels
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Reports and print a Supplies Status Report. If any toner cartridge (especially the black) is low or nearing the end of its life, try replacing it or redistributing the toner by gently shaking the cartridge.
Print a Configuration Page or Test Page
- Print a Configuration Page or Diagnostic Test Page from the printer menu. If the lightness appears on these test pages, it points to a hardware or toner issue.
Clean the Printer Components
- Dust or toner buildup can cause uneven prints. Perform the following:
- Use the printer's Cleaning Mode (accessible from the control panel or maintenance menu).
- Manually clean the toner rollers and imaging drum using a dry, lint-free cloth (refer to the user manual for safety and instructions).
Check Print Settings
- On your computer, ensure the following:
- The Paper Type setting matches the paper you’re using (e.g., plain, photo, or thick paper).
- The Print Quality is set to "Best" instead of "Draft" or "Normal."
- You can access these settings in the Print Properties or Preferences window.
Inspect the Fuser and Transfer Belt
- Uneven fusing can cause faded areas. If the lower half of the page consistently prints light, the fuser or transfer belt may be worn out. These are replaceable parts, and you might need to contact HP support for servicing or replacements.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it could indicate a deeper hardware problem.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
