@Jen0476, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Ink Levels:

  • Make sure the yellow ink tank is not empty. You can check the ink levels via the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app.

Check the Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure the yellow ink cartridge is properly installed. Remove it and then reinstall it to make sure it's seated correctly.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Clogged printheads can prevent certain colors from printing. Use the printer’s built-in cleaning function to clean the printhead. You can find this option in the printer's settings or through the HP Smart app.

Run a Print Quality Diagnostic:

  • HP printers have a diagnostic tool that will print a test page to help identify any issues with the print quality. This can help pinpoint whether the yellow ink is not being used properly.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupt printer drivers can cause printing issues. Make sure your printer drivers are up to date. You can update them through the HP Smart app or on the HP website.

Check for Air in the Ink Lines:

  • If air is trapped in the ink lines, it can cause poor or no ink flow. You can try performing a priming procedure from the printer settings to remove the air.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes a reset can resolve minor software or hardware issues.

Check for Software Issues:

  • If you are printing from a computer or mobile device, make sure there are no software errors. Try printing a color test page from the printer directly.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue
