Help Im trying to print in black in only and it wont let me without first replacing the color cartridges...

That is normal on OJ Pro 7740. If any ink cartridge is empty the printer will stop printing.

The fact that it is normal is not at issue, here. How do we print with a brand new black cartridge while the color cartridges are empty? (Mind you, it's not because I print a lot of color pages. It's because of the design of the printer to use the color ink between uses to clean the print heads.) I don't want to throw away money when I don't use this printer for color printing anymore. How do I turn on single cartridge mode or get around the HP hostage situation I'm currently experiencing with my printer? It's absolutely WRONG to require me to buy a $75 set of color cartridges to print B&W pages. Thanks for your help in resolving this situation.
