Two different Envy 6220's not printing black anymore

HP Recommended
HP Envy Photo 6220
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My mother and uncle both bought the same printer little over a year ago. I installed them, both worked fine. They both don't print often, so no problems were noticed after the install and test print went ok. A week ago my uncle needed to print something and suddenly the printer doesn't print black anymore. My mom tested hers and she has the same problem! Original HP cartridges, obviously. Printer software gives no errors and says both color and black are 99% full.

I reinstalled drivers and software, updated to latest firmware, did 3 rounds of cleaning (until the printer said there wasn't any more it could do), had the printer of power for half an hour, manually cleaned contacts as described on the HP support site, but alas, no improvement. They are both connected by USB,not wireless or BT.

What else can I do?

Hi @Lios,

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hope this helps!
