I recently purchased an HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer that was defective. HP honored my warranty (thank you) and sent me a replacement. I was instructed to remove the ink cartridges from the old printer and "Save them for future use in a plastic tub with an air-tight lid". So..... when the ink cartridge that came with my new printer was depleted, I installed the cartridge that I had saved from my old printer, and I got this message, "Only one set of Instant Ink Ready cartridges can be used in a printer. Remove and replace with other cartridges." I tried 2 different cartridges with the same results. I have the pdf file that HP provided with the above quotes if you would like to view it. Is there some way to convince the printer to accept these cartridges, or do you need to replace them for me?
Thanks for your help.

Hi @deanna5mae,
Have you enrolled the replacement printer in instant ink service?
You cannot use instant cartridges on different printers, The cartridges are made to work only on the printer that is registered or intended to be used on.
Let me know.
