Product: HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer

I'm not sure why, but somewhere in my printer settings, I decided it would be  good idea to only let me use my hp ink cartridges in that printer. That printer broke down and now I would like to use those cartridges (THESE ARE REGULAR, NOT INSTANT INK CARTRIDGES) in another printer that uses the same ink.  Can I fix it so I can use those cartridges?  They are all full and almost new cartridges. Can I undo my bad decision?
