Hi @SHADOWPAST
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:
Check Printer Status:
- Ensure that the printer is powered on and connected to your computer or network. Check for any error messages or alerts on the printer’s display.
Set as Default Printer:
- Make sure the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 is set as your default printer:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Find your printer, click on it, and select Manage, then choose Set as default.
Check Print Queue:
- Open the print queue to see if there are any stuck print jobs:
- Go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select See what's printing. If there are any stuck jobs, clear the queue and try printing again.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed:
- Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer.
Run the Printer Troubleshooter:
- Windows has a built-in printer troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Printer. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix issues.
Print from Another Application:
- Try printing from a different application (like a PDF viewer) to see if the issue is specific to Word, Excel, and Notepad.
Check Application Settings:
- In each application (Word, Excel, Notepad), go to File > Print, and ensure that the correct printer is selected. Check for any specific settings that may affect printing.
Reinstall the Printer:
- Remove the printer from your system and reinstall it:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and choose Remove device. Then add it back.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure your Windows 10 is fully updated, as updates can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.
Restart Devices:
- Restart both your computer and printer to clear any temporary issues.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
