Why are you billing me for May? I canceled my account in April, also I never used any ink or printed since February / March.

Hi @GROOVE1962,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out — I’m sorry for any confusion and frustration this situation has caused. Let me explain how the HP Instant Ink service works and why you may have seen a charge for May even after your cancellation in April.

How HP Instant Ink Billing Works

  • HP Instant Ink is a subscription-based service, where billing occurs at the start of each monthly cycle, not based on when ink is used or printed.
  • When you cancel, your account remains active through the end of your current billing cycle, and you’re billed for that final month if your cancellation happens after your cycle renewal.
  • Once your cancellation is complete and the final billing cycle ends, you won’t be charged moving forward.

After cancellation, any unused ink in those cartridges can no longer be used and must be returned to HP using the prepaid recycling envelope provided.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
