The indicated cartridges have been identified as altered or cloned. Do you mean like an aftermarket part in my car? Or maybe a secondary manufacturer of memory for my computer? Or maybe two sofas in my home from two different companies?
I was suckered into an hp ink subscription. Which is retroactive, not forthcoming. They told me I didn't have to do it but now that I have been paying $7 a month for ink that I 'purchased' with my printer, I realized I wasn't using enough to warrant the monthly spend. e.g. four months and no new ink needed. So I have bought my printer with included ink, then paid $21 for three months and cancelled. However I cancelled 1 day after it 'renewed' and they insisted I had to now pay for an entire month of ink cartridge usage in 30 days. Yes, they canceled. An entire month later because even though I had not even printed in that one day I was tied to a retroactive bill. So I had to pay yet another $7 for something I never used. Therein lies the first mode of theft.
Now for the second mode of theft. The indicated cartridges have been identified as altered or cloned. HP+ printers require original HP cartridges. Tell me, where does it say this when you buy the printer? IT DOESN'T. and since they gave me a n option to not use their service, now I am required to pay $90 to replace my ink instead of $40 MORE THAN TWICE THE COST because they are thieves.
Gone are the days of reasonable choice. now the choices are 1. pay us more for less or 2. don't use us. I know mine and I hope you make yours better as well.

Original HP toner or cartridge is required to operate in HP+ printer, the printer without HP+ it's not.
By activating HP+ or purchasing HP+ printer you agreed to use genuine HP cartridges.
You don't need to buy or activate HP+ it's your choice, you have on the market non HP+ printers.
