I have only recently started using my partner's HP Envy Pro 6340. After buying some HP ink, i had printed a few documents, but tonight I wanted to print out some forms but it will only print out a 'printer information page'
part of it says 'payment method needs updating. Cannot print with the installed HP instant ink cartridges, Sing-in to update your payment information.
Does this mean that the printer has been locked? (even though there is a nearly full HP cartridge in it that I bought)
I know my partner had an instant ink account, but he recently died and I don't know his user name of password. I really need to print out some forms in the next few days. I'm wondering if my only option is to buy a new printer? I rarely need to print anything.

Hi @MarkBrennan,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with printing on your printer.
To understand the issue and help you, please share the details listed below:
- Are you using store bought genuine HP ink cartridges or HP instant ink cartridges?
- Please remove the ink cartridges out and share the image to isolate the issue.
- May I know which application are you using to print?
- When was the last time your printer was working fine?
- Were there any changes made to your printer recently?
- May I know which devices are you using to print eg: Windows PC, Mac, or Smartphone (Android or iPhone)?
