Hi @amn65 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP DeskJet 4155e All-In-One Printer is only printing in black-and-white even after installing new color ink cartridges, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Check Printer Settings:
- Ensure that the print settings are set to color. Sometimes, the printer might be set to print in grayscale or black-and-white.
- Go to the print dialog box and check the color settings. Make sure the option for color printing is selected.
Print a Test Page:
- Print a test page from the printer to check if the color cartridges are working correctly.
- On the printer control panel, press the Setup button (the wrench icon), navigate to "Tools" and select "Print Quality Report".
Clean the Printhead:
- The printhead may be clogged, which can prevent color ink from being used.
- Use the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel to clean the printhead.
- On the printer control panel, press the Setup button, go to "Printer Maintenance", and select "Clean Printhead".
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Make sure the color ink cartridge is properly installed and is not empty.
- Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure they are seated correctly.
Run Printer Diagnostics:
- Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and fix any issues. You can download it from the HP support website. HP Print and Scan Doctor
Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause issues.
- You can update the firmware through the HP Smart app or the HP website.
Check for Driver Issues:
- Ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer.
- Go to the HP website, find the drivers for your specific printer model, and install any updates.
Reset the Printer:
- Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve the issue. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
