Hi @DawnLaw,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 6055e won't print with a brand new HP 902XL black ink cartridge, even after multiple cleanings, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here’s a comprehensive troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the problem:
1. Verify Cartridge Installation
Check Installation:
- Make sure the cartridge is installed correctly. Remove it and reinstall it, ensuring it clicks into place securely.
Check for Protective Tape:
- Ensure that any protective tape or packaging material has been removed from the cartridge. These are usually orange or yellow and cover the nozzles.
2. Inspect the Ink Cartridge
Examine Cartridge for Damage:
- Check the new cartridge for any visible signs of damage. If possible, test with another new cartridge to rule out a faulty one.
Check Ink Levels:
- Even though the cartridge is new, verify that it’s not defective. The HP Smart app or printer software may provide information about ink levels.
3. Clean Print Heads
Access Print Head Cleaning:
- Use the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app to run the print head cleaning cycle again. Perform the cleaning process 2-3 times if necessary.
Manual Cleaning:
- If automatic cleaning doesn’t work, you can try manually cleaning the print head. Turn off the printer and unplug it. Carefully remove the print head (if applicable) and use a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with distilled water or a cleaning solution to clean the print head and contacts. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
4. Check Printer Settings
- Ensure that the print quality settings are not set to “Draft” or “Economy” mode, which might affect print output.
- Check that the HP Envy 6055e is set as the default printer on your computer.
5. Update Firmware and Drivers
- Go to the HP website or use the HP Smart app to check for and install any available firmware updates for your printer.
- Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can download them from the HP website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
