Won't print "There is a problem with the printer or ink system".

HP Recommended
HP inkjet 8600 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have had this printer for about 8 years and it was working fine until this last time when I went to change the ink cartridges. Now all I get is a message that says. "There is a problem with the printer or ink system, Turn your printer off, then on, if the problem persists contact HP."  Cannot contact HP because they will not offer any help with an old printer.  Have removed the software and reinstalled but still nothing.  Any ideas??
