@1c1n1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Yellow Ink Cartridge Issue on OfficeJet 8610!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Step 1: Use Genuine HP Cartridges

Ensure you are using genuine HP cartridges. Non-HP or refilled cartridges might not work correctly with your HP printer. Verify the authenticity of your cartridges on the HP Anti-Counterfeit webpage.

Step 2: Check and Replace Low or Empty Cartridges

If your printer reports that an ink cartridge is empty, it must be replaced before you can continue printing. Follow these steps to replace the cartridge:

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Open the cartridge access door:
    • Place your fingers into the slot on the left side of the printer and pull it open. Open the cartridge access door
  3. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
  4. Remove the old cartridge:
    • Push in on the front of the yellow cartridge to release it and pull it towards you. Remove the cartridge from its slot
  5. Install the new cartridge:
    • Remove the new cartridge from its package, ensuring the cartridge contacts face the printer.
    • Slide the new cartridge into its slot and gently push it forward until it snaps into place. Make sure the letter on the cartridge matches the letter on the slot. Insert the cartridge into its color-coded slot
  6. Repeat these steps to install any other new cartridges.
  7. Close the cartridge access door. Close the cartridge access door

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
