Microsoft Windows 11

I put in a new color cartridge, not HP, the printer did not start by aligning  the printer like it usuallyy does. Then when I went to print the color did not print.  I have looked every where for what could cause this but could not find anything.  I also looked for how to align  the printer heads and could not find any thing there either.  This is an older printer,a HP Desk Jet. Anyone have an answer?  I do not want to buy a new printer.

Hi @carhar88,

Thank you for your response!

I'd like to help!

You may refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems. HP will not guarantee the functionality of those ink cartridges.

There are many cartridges in the market which is refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it's not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I had a second color cartridge from the same store I buy most of them and I hated to open another new one but I did and it acted like it was supposed to do.  I put it in, then it started up and printed a page then it told me to scan that page to align

So I guess you telling me that maybe a non HP would give me trouble, was right on.  Thanks for your help
