HP Deskjet Plus Ink Advantage 6475

The page prints with lines missing and the words that are there are only the top portion of the word most of the time. I have tried to clean cartridges and align cartridges with no luck of fixing the issue. My ink levels are almost full

Hi @REICH1

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like your HP DeskJet Plus Ink Advantage 6475 is experiencing print quality issues despite cleaning and aligning the cartridges.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Verify Printer Settings

  • Check Paper Type:
    • Ensure the paper type selected in the printer settings matches the paper loaded in the tray.
  • Print Quality Settings:
    • Set the print quality to "Best" in the printer preferences.

2. Perform a Deep Printhead Cleaning

  • Steps:
    1. On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
    2. Run the cleaning cycle multiple times (up to 3 times) to clear any blockages.
    3. Print another test page to check for improvement.

3. Inspect the Cartridges

  • Steps:
    1. Remove the cartridges and inspect them for any damage or dried ink.
    2. Clean the cartridge contacts with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.
    3. Reinsert the cartridges securely.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Visit the HP Support website and check for firmware updates for your printer model.
  • Download and install any available updates to ensure compatibility and improved performance.

5. Reset the Printer

  • Steps:
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    2. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
    3. Test the printer again to see if the issue is resolved.

6. Test with Different Documents

  • Try printing different types of documents (e.g., Word, Excel, PDF) to see if the issue persists across all formats.
