It will not print black ink but all other colors work.  The cartridges are all separate colors on the 6520.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that the black cartridge is not printing, I am glad to assist you.

Did you make a copy and check if the black ink cartridge prints?

Did you check the black ink cartridge level?

Meanwhile:-

Run a Print Quality Diagnostic report

  1. Load plain white paper in the tray.

  2. On the printer, touch Settings, touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report.

If you find any defect in the black cartridge block, follow these steps:-

Check the ink cartridge vents, Inspect the ink cartridges for clogged vents and for any remaining original packaging.

  1. Open the ink cartridge access door.

    Open the cartridge access door

  2. Press the tab on the front of the ink cartridge to release it, and then pull it out of the slot.

Remove the cartridge from the slot

  3. Examine the vent area on the top of the ink cartridge.

Hi that didn't work. It's a brand new black cartridge from HP and there is NO BLACK INK printing at all ! All other colors print fine.
