Hi @grass1a,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I understand that you are unable to use remanufactured cartridges, I am glad to assist you.
HP printers are designed to work with original HP ink and toner cartridges. As is standard in the printing business, HP printers use a process to authenticate cartridges. In certain HP printers, this authentication process includes dynamic security measures.
Dynamic security relies on the printer’s ability to communicate with the security chips or electronic circuitry on the cartridges. HP uses dynamic security measures to protect the quality of our customer experience, maintain the integrity of our printing systems, and protect our intellectual property.

Hi Elohi_NR.
Thank you for getting back to me.
The way I understand this, is, HP has knowingly prevented me from using supplies I choose to use. This HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 is a personal use printer. Wholey owned by me. It is out of warranty. I wish it unblocked. Two points to consider here. I have this printer, an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw, and just purchased two more M479fdw's. I own 4 HP laptop computers. Should I not be able to have my printer unblocked, I may have to consider another brand for printers and laptops in the future.
Second point. In 2020 HP lost a class action lawsuit over this very same issue, and had to pay out a hefty judgement. If you wish, I can send you the details of the lawsuit.
I am respectivly requesting that HP unblock my printer so that I may use cartridges of my choice, both HP or non HP.
