Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Disabling Cartridge Protection on HP OfficeJet 9018e

You can turn off the Cartridge Protection feature using the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS). Follow the steps below:

1. Get the Printer’s IP Address

On the printer’s control panel, tap the Wireless or Ethernet icon.

Note the IP address displayed.

2. Open the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

On your computer, open any web browser.

Type the printer’s IP address exactly as shown (e.g., 192.168.x.x) into the address bar and press Enter.

If your browser shows a security warning, choose Continue or Proceed.

This page is safe to visit.

3. Go to Supply Settings

Once EWS loads, open the Settings tab.

In the left panel, select Supplies → Supply Settings.

4. Disable Cartridge Protection

Find the Cartridge Protection section.

Turn off the Cartridge Protection option.

Click Apply to save the changes.

Important Note

Disabling this option will not unprotect cartridges that are already “locked” to another printer.

Only new cartridges installed after you disable the feature will remain unprotected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
