Hi @imindaatl
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
However, if you're determined to use non-HP cartridges and want to bypass this restriction, here are a few steps you can try:
1. Reset the Printer
Sometimes, resetting the printer can clear the error and allow you to bypass the message temporarily:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug it from the power outlet for about 1 minute.
- Plug it back in and turn it on again.
2. Disable Dynamic Security (if possible)
HP printers with Dynamic Security might block non-HP ink cartridges automatically. While you can't permanently disable it, you can try to reinstall the cartridges after resetting the printer:
- Uninstall the non-HP cartridges and reinstall them carefully.
- Check for firmware updates: Sometimes, updates from HP may include fixes or workarounds for non-HP ink cartridge issues.
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update to check for updates.
3. Use Compatible (Not Remanufactured) Ink Cartridges
Some third-party ink brands are explicitly marked as "HP-Compatible", and these may work better than generic or refilled cartridges. These cartridges are designed to pass HP's security checks and may be accepted by the printer. Make sure the third-party cartridge brand states it's compatible with your printer model.
4. Ignore the Warning Message (if possible)
After installing the non-HP ink cartridges, try to press OK or Continue on the printer's display, if possible, to dismiss the error message. Some users report that they can bypass the warning temporarily this way.
5. Firmware Downgrade (Advanced, Not Recommended)
In some cases, users have attempted to downgrade the printer’s firmware to a version before the introduction of Dynamic Security. However, this can be complicated and risky, as it can potentially void your warranty or cause other issues. If you still want to try this, you’d need to research the specific method for your printer model.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
