I understand you are getting the error code B3047809 on your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-In-One Printer, indicating that the black cartridge is not communicating with the printer software, which can be caused by several factors. 

 

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

 

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure that you are using genuine HP cartridges compatible with your printer model.

Reseat the Cartridge:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove the black cartridge.
  • Check for any protective tape that may not have been removed.
  • Reinsert the cartridge securely.
  • Close the cartridge access door and turn the printer back on.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the cartridge access door and remove the black cartridge.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge.
  • Allow the contacts to dry completely.
  • Reinsert the cartridge and close the cartridge access door.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.

Reset the Printer:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and the back of the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Replace the Cartridge:

  • If the error persists, try replacing the black cartridge with a new, genuine HP cartridge.
