Hi @Noodles2626,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to calibrate or adjust the color on your HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer, you can follow these steps:
1. Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup.
- Select Tools.
- Choose Print Quality Report.
- Review the report to identify any color alignment or quality issues.
2. Align the Printhead
- On the printer control panel, navigate to Setup.
- Select Tools.
- Choose Align Printer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- The printer will print an alignment page; place it on the scanner glass and follow the prompts to complete alignment.
3. Clean the Printhead
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup.
- Select Tools.
- Choose Clean Printhead and follow the on-screen instructions.
- If the issue persists, repeat this step up to three times.
4. Adjust Color Settings in the Printer Driver
- When printing, open the print dialog from the application you are using.
- Select Preferences or Properties (or similar, depending on the software).
- Navigate to the Color or Advanced Settings tab.
- Adjust the color sliders (e.g., Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) or select Custom Color Settings to fine-tune the color output.
5. Update the Printer Firmware and Driver Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Visit the HP Support Page for the ENVY 7640.
- Download and install the latest firmware and driver for your printer.
- Ensure the printer is using the latest software for optimal performance.
6. Calibrate the Printer (if supported)
- Check if your printer supports manual calibration:
- On the control panel, go to Setup > Tools > Calibrate Color or similar.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
7. Check for Cartridge Issues
- Ensure you’re using genuine HP cartridges.
- Remove and reseat the cartridges to ensure they are properly installed.
- Check for ink levels; replace low or empty cartridges.
8. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord and wait for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
