How do I remove the printer head on a DeskJet 2700e

@MIK4384,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP DeskJet 2700 series printers do not have a removable printhead like some OfficeJet or higher-end DeskJet models. Instead, the ink cartridges themselves contain the print nozzles. If you are experiencing print quality issues, you may need to clean the cartridges rather than remove a printhead.

Power On the Printer

  • Make sure the printer is turned on.

Open the Ink Cartridge Access Door

  • Lift the front cover of the printer. The ink cartridge carriage will move to the center.

Remove the Ink Cartridges

  • Wait for the carriage to stop moving.
  • Gently press down on the ink cartridge you want to remove (black or tri-color) to release it.
  • Pull the cartridge out.

Install a New Cartridge (If Needed)

  • Remove the protective tape from the new cartridge.
  • Insert it into the correct slot (black on the right, tri-color on the left) and push it until it clicks into place.

Close the Access Door

  • Lower the printer cover and wait for the printer to initialize.

If you're facing print quality issues, try cleaning the printhead using the HP Smart app or printer settings instead of removing it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
