Product: color laser jet pro mfp m281
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I used alternate cartridges for several months and it was okay, then this week the printer has locked up because of a non hp chip in the cartridges. how can i get the machine to unlock?

Downgrade firmware to an older version, you have all you need if you google search it.
