Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

just installed 2 new cartridges today and colour will print but not black - done all steps advised online, checking alignment, cleaning, turning on and off, test page shows only light greys not black no matter what I do.  Also checked all drivers up to date/software updates etc.  I have taken cartridges out and put back in several times - there is black ink seen on copper part but no black on any print at all.  Weird, can anyone help?  Thanks

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hi, thanks for your reply. 

I have no idea what happened to my printer.  I had tried the solution you mention in your post plus all other tips and solutions I could find online and nothing would get it to work for over 2 days of trying. 

The third day I tried to print it I got a print that had black on it!  Although I am glad it's working, the frustration of wasting 2 days trying all sorts of options was very annoying.

Who knows what happened, I just hope it stays working!
