1) I found that print jobs were not printing correctly. Further investigation finds that the cyan is not printing the blue color.

2) Replace cartridge, same results. 75% color is still in the cartridge, this is an original cartridge for the HP printer.

3) Using printer status report is when I found that cyan was not coming out.

4) Cleaned cartridge head and the head piece where cartridge sits with alcohol. Did not help.

5) Per an earlier post I tried a hard reset of printer by unplugging printer removing cartridges. Did not help.

6) I tried the older cartridge, still did not help.

Open to other suggestions.

Thanks

@Jim793, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Run the Built-in Printhead Cleaning Cycle (Multiple Times)

Even though you cleaned manually, the printer's internal cleaning cycle is more thorough and specifically targets clogs.

On the printer control panel:

Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.

Run the basic clean once.

If there's no improvement, try up to 3 cleaning cycles (wait a few minutes between each).

If available, run Deep Cleaning or Second-Level Cleaning.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page

This will help determine if it's just cyan or if there are alignment or mixing issues:

On the control panel:

Go to Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report.

Examine the color blocks—especially the cyan block. Is it missing, streaked, or faint?

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Inspect for Air Gaps or Leaks

Remove the cyan cartridge and check:

Are there bubbles in the clear strip of the ink path?

Do you see leaking ink anywhere?

Air can get into the system and cause ink flow problems. Tapping the cartridge gently (no shaking) or reseating it might help temporarily.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

So far, nothing has helped. We decided to order a replacement for the print head that holds the ink.

This will be in sometime in the next week..

Thanks for your help.

Hey @Jim793,

Thank you for your response

That's great to hear! Hopefully, the new print head will resolve the issue once it's installed.
