Hi @MathewKoda,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering issues with your HP Photosmart 7525 printer related to the printer or ink system, it could be due to several reasons. Here’s a guide to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve common problems with the printer or ink system:

1. Check for Basic Issues

a. Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn Off and On: Power off the printer, unplug it from the wall, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

b. Check for Error Messages:

  • Control Panel: Look at the printer’s control panel for any specific error messages or codes that might indicate the nature of the problem.

2. Inspect Ink Cartridges

a. Remove and Reinsert Cartridges:

  • Access Ink Cartridges: Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove Cartridges: Carefully remove the ink cartridges.
  • Check Cartridges: Inspect the cartridges for any damage or leaks. Make sure the protective tape has been removed from the nozzles.
  • Reinsert Cartridges: Reinsert the cartridges into their respective slots and close the access door.

b. Check Ink Levels:

  • Printer Display: Check the ink levels on the printer’s display or through the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant on your computer. Replace any cartridges that are low or empty.

c. Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Power Off: Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Clean Contacts: Use a lint-free cloth and a small amount of distilled water to gently clean the gold contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer where the cartridges make contact.
  • Dry and Reinstall: Allow everything to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.

3. Check for Paper Jams

a. Inspect Paper Path:

  • Open Access Doors: Open any access doors and check for paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer.
  • Remove Jammed Paper: Gently remove any jammed paper or obstructions.

4. Perform Printer Diagnostics

a. Printer Self-Test:

  • Print Report: Use the printer’s control panel to print a diagnostic or test page to check if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
