Hi @AJ341,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting a white line across prints from your HP Smart Tank 615 Wireless All-in-One Printer typically indicates a problem with the printhead or the ink supply.

Here are some steps to help you resolve this issue:

1. Check Ink Levels

Ensure that your ink levels are sufficient. Low ink levels can cause poor print quality, including white lines across prints.

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Check the ink levels displayed for each color.
  • If any of the ink tanks are low, refill them according to the instructions in your printer’s manual.

2. Run a Printhead Cleaning

Printhead cleaning can often resolve issues with missing colors or lines across prints.

  • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup (the wrench icon).
  • Select Maintenance or Printer Maintenance.
  • Choose Clean Printhead or Clean Cartridges.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the cleaning process.

You may need to run the cleaning process more than once to see an improvement.

3. Align the Printhead

Misalignment of the printhead can also cause lines in your prints.

  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup (the wrench icon).
  • Select Printer Maintenance.
  • Choose Align Printhead.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to align the printhead.

4. Check for Paper Quality and Type

Ensure that you are using the correct type of paper for your print job. Low-quality or incorrect paper settings can affect print quality.

  • Use paper designed for inkjet printers.
  • Check the paper type settings on your printer or within the printer driver on your computer to ensure they match the paper you are using.

5. Inspect for Obstructions

  • Open the printer and carefully check for any obstructions or debris that could be affecting print quality.
  • Make sure the ink nozzles are clean and free of dried ink or dust.

6. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date, as updates can fix bugs and improve performance.

  • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
  • Follow the instructions to update the firmware.

7. Perform a Print Quality Diagnostic Report

This report can help identify any print quality issues.

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup.
  • Select Reports or Tools.
  • Choose Print Quality Report or Print Quality Diagnostic Report.

Review the report to see if any colors are missing or if there are any streaks or lines. This can help pinpoint the issue.
