Hi @LCLL,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet P1102w is only printing on one quarter of the page on Windows 11, this is typically caused by a driver issue, incorrect paper size settings, or corrupted print job data. Here's how to fix it:

1. Check Paper Size Settings

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP LaserJet P1102w > select Printing Preferences.
  • Go to the Paper/Quality tab or similar.
  • Ensure the paper size is set to Letter (8.5x11 in) or A4, depending on what you use.

Also check:

  • In the program you're printing from (Word, PDF viewer, etc.), go to Print > Page Setup and verify the correct paper size and scaling (should be 100% or “fit to page”).

2. Reinstall the Correct HP Driver

The printer might be using a generic driver instead of the correct one.

To fix:

  1. Go to: HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
  2. Download and install the full feature software or basic driver for Windows 11.
  3. After installation, restart your PC and try printing again.

3. Clear Print Spooler (Optional)

If stuck jobs are causing layout issues:

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, press Enter.
  2. Find Print Spooler, right-click > Stop.
  3. Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files.
  4. Go back to services and start the Print Spooler.

Test Print

Once you've done all of the above, try:

  • A test page from the driver settings.
  • A normal document from Word or PDF.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for your help. I followed all your suggestions but it's still printing only 1/4 of a page. Do you have any other suggestions?

Hi @LCLL,

Thank you for letting me know. Please try the steps shared below.

Reset the Printer to Factory Settings

A factory reset might help clear any internal settings that could be causing issues.

  • Step 1: Turn off the printer.
  • Step 2: Press and hold the Go button (the circular arrow button).
  • Step 3: While holding the Go button, turn the printer on.
  • Step 4: Keep holding the Go button until the printer lights start flashing. Release the button.
  • The printer will reset to its factory default settings.

Check for Firmware Updates

Sometimes, an outdated firmware version can cause odd print behaviour. Let’s check for updates:

  • Step 1: Go to HP Support and search for your HP LaserJet P1102w.
  • Step 2: Download the latest firmware for your printer if available.
  • Step 3: Follow the instructions on the website to update the firmware.

Clear Print Spooler (Complete)

You mentioned you already cleared the print spooler, but let’s ensure we’ve covered everything.

  • Step 1: Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Step 2: In the Services window, scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Stop.
  • Step 3: Open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS.
  • Step 4: Delete all files in this folder.
  • Step 5: Go back to the Services window and right-click Print Spooler, then select Start.

Print a Test Page

Once the steps above are complete, try printing a test page to check the results.

  • Step 1: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Step 2: Right-click on your printer and select Printer Properties.
  • Step 3: Under the General tab, click Print Test Page.

If the issue persists after these steps, it could indicate a deeper hardware issue. Let me know if you still need assistance after trying these methods!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
