@LHay47, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble reinserting the ink cartridge in your HP ENVY Photo 6220 All-in-One Printer after clearing a paper jam, it's likely due to one of the following:

Turn the printer off and back on
This can reset the carriage position if it's stuck in a jam-clearance state.

Check cartridge orientation

  • The tri-color cartridge goes on the left.
  • The black cartridge goes on the right.
  • Make sure the label is facing you and the copper contacts are facing inward toward the printer.

Inspect the cartridge carriage

  • Look inside the printer and ensure the carriage is centered and not pushed to one side.
  • If it's not accessible, gently slide it to the center only if it moves easily do not force it.

Tilt the cartridge slightly upwards (like hooking it in) and push it in until it clicks into place.

  • You should feel resistance and then a firm click when it's seated correctly.

Double-check for leftover paper bits or obstruction

  • Even a tiny piece of paper or misaligned roller can block proper cartridge insertion.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
