Product: HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I discontinued Instant Ink on my 3830 printer. Now, using Staples bought HP ink, I receive error message that ink cartridges are incompatible.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you. 

We understand that you have cancelled the HP instant ink subscription, we suggest you please wait till the end of the billing cycle and use the Standard HP cartridges you've brought. 
Kindly make sure it is compatible with your printer.
