Hi @ylink,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is printing blank pages after installing a new ink cartridge, here are several steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check Cartridge Installation

  • Ensure the cartridge is correctly seated in the printer.
  • Make sure you've removed any protective tape from the ink cartridge.

Run a Printer Test Page

  • From the printer's control panel, run a test print or diagnostic page to check if the printer is able to print properly.
  • This can help identify whether the problem lies with the cartridge or another issue.

Clean the Printhead

  • Ink buildup or debris on the printhead can prevent proper ink flow. Most HP printers have a utility for cleaning the printhead, either in the printer’s control panel or through the HP software on your computer.
  • For manual cleaning:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    • Remove the ink cartridges.
    • Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the printhead.

Align the Printer

  • Use the printer's software to align the printhead. Misaligned printheads can lead to printing issues like blank pages.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date, as outdated firmware can sometimes cause printing issues.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges

  • Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP or refilled cartridges may not always function correctly.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for a minute. Then, plug it back in and restart it. This can sometimes clear up any communication issues with the new cartridge.

If none of these steps work, it could indicate a hardware issue with the printer or a defective cartridge.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
