HP officejet pro 8610 - gives error that says ink cartridges "appear to be damaged" - changed them 3 times and cleaned the print head - no help

At first it just listed the magenta as the "damaged" one.  I changed it multiple times, cleaned the print head and changed them a few more times.  FInally it regestered good, but then immediately the cyan showed the same "damaged" error.  I went on line to the IP address # for the printer.  It showed both cyan and yellow to have the error.  I replaced them both.  That got the menu back on the screen and I thought I was good.  But as soon as I tried printing a test page, the cyan "damaged" popped up again.  I tried swapping in the old one and back to the new one.  When I put the new one back in, the web / IP address showed it as good, but the screen on the printer showed "damaged" again.  This is ridiculous!  Please help.
