hp 9018 instant ink error on control panel saying i need to sign in to my account. i signed in but cannot connect to wifi of printer because i cannot remove the printer error message screen. i have tried all support suggestions i could find.

Try these steps:

 

Reset the Printer

Turn Off and Disconnect:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Wait until the printer is completely turned off.

Unplug the Printer:

  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds to reset the printer.

Reconnect and Turn On:

  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and the power outlet directly (avoid using power strips).
  • Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.

Update Printer Firmware

Updated firmware can resolve many issues related to connectivity and errors.

Download Firmware:

Install Firmware Update:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the firmware update on your printer.
  • Ensure the printer is connected to your computer via USB or a wired network connection during the update.

Confirm Web Services

Make sure the printer's Web Services are enabled and properly configured.

Access Web Services:

  • From the printer control panel, navigate to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.

Enable Web Services:

  • Turn on Web Services if it is not already enabled.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to set up Web Services again.

Check Connection:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network.

Re-register Printer to Instant Ink

Sometimes re-registering the printer to your Instant Ink account can resolve issues.

Sign in to HP Smart:

  • Go to the HP Smart website.
  • Sign in to your account or create a new account if needed.

Add Printer:

  • On the HP Smart dashboard, click Add Printer.
  • Enter the printer claim code found on the printer information page.

Remove and Reinsert Cartridges

Re-seating the cartridges can sometimes clear errors.

Remove Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove and reinsert each Instant Ink cartridge.

Restart Printer:

  • Close the cartridge access door.
  • Restart the printer.

 Reseat the Cartridge
