hp 9018 instant ink error on control panel saying i need to sign in to my account. i signed in but cannot connect to wifi of printer because i cannot remove the printer error message screen. i have tried all support suggestions i could find.

Reset the Printer
Turn Off and Disconnect:
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Wait until the printer is completely turned off.
Unplug the Printer:
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds to reset the printer.
Reconnect and Turn On:
- Plug the power cord back into the printer and the power outlet directly (avoid using power strips).
- Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.
Update Printer Firmware
Updated firmware can resolve many issues related to connectivity and errors.
Download Firmware:
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
- Enter your printer model (HP OfficeJet 9018) and select the appropriate operating system.
- Download the latest firmware update.
Install Firmware Update:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the firmware update on your printer.
- Ensure the printer is connected to your computer via USB or a wired network connection during the update.
Confirm Web Services
Make sure the printer's Web Services are enabled and properly configured.
Access Web Services:
- From the printer control panel, navigate to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
Enable Web Services:
- Turn on Web Services if it is not already enabled.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up Web Services again.
Check Connection:
- Ensure the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Re-register Printer to Instant Ink
Sometimes re-registering the printer to your Instant Ink account can resolve issues.
Sign in to HP Smart:
- Go to the HP Smart website.
- Sign in to your account or create a new account if needed.
Add Printer:
- On the HP Smart dashboard, click Add Printer.
- Enter the printer claim code found on the printer information page.
Remove and Reinsert Cartridges
Re-seating the cartridges can sometimes clear errors.
Remove Cartridges:
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove and reinsert each Instant Ink cartridge.
Restart Printer:
- Close the cartridge access door.
- Restart the printer.
