1)  This printer, like the other Page Wide models, needs to have the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software installed when printing A3.  Why?  If the software is not installed OR if printer software is installed but Printer Properties > Advanced > Driver are set to the Windows Print drivers, (then) A3 prints will exhibit a number of issues and / or differences.

2)  Unclear -- Is the printer printing lines through all prints or only the A3 size prints?

3)  If the Borderless question relates to A3 prints -- Install the Full Feature Software AND make sure the driver is selected in Printer Properties.

AND / OR

Some printers restrict Borderless to certain paper sizes and / or paper types.

>> Refer to Printing Preferences and the job submission setup:  Check compatible settings, including those for printing Borderless.

I don't have a solution in hand for new printer that prints lines on all prints.

Paper selection might result in odd visual artifacts -- that is, if the paper detected by the printer (Tray and Paper) is not the same paper selected in the job submission.

=================================

Printer - Tray and Paper

Depending on the printer model, the information might be checked on the touch-screen Printer Control Panel.

EWS > HP Document / How-to

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

EWS – Tray and Paper Management

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes

Tray and Paper – Paper Size / Paper Type / Paper Weight

Reminder

HP Smart Mobile might require that paper size / type is rechecked / adjusted before the content is opened for print.

Paper SizeType, and Weight loaded in the printer tray must be supported for use in that tray.

EWS provides access and control to check / adjust Tray and Paper Settings.

Notes

Depending on the printer model, the Printer Control Panel might provide access to Paper Size / Type settings immediately after the paper is (re)loaded into the appropriate printer intake tray.

Trays

  • If the printer lacks a second tray, all paper / types are supported in the single available tray.
  • Printers that include a Photo Tray generally restrict the paper sizes and paper type supported in that tray.

Custom size?

If EWS does not allow setting the paper size or size “Custom”,

If the printer includes a touch display printer control panel,

Look for the setting for “Custom” in the Printer Control Panel after (re)loading the paper to be used

NOTE:  Not available for all printers

What?

Paper Size, Type, and Weight must be appropriate for the tray in which that paper is to be used.

New Printer, full software properly installed and in good working order -

Printer Properties > Advanced > Driver selection correct,

New HP ink installed, printer clean and ready --

Printer should not have trouble printing A4 or A3 prints.

What else?

Might be communication drops or odd issues that break up the data.

Unlikely in a health network but worth checking.

If you have it available, use Ethernet

Ethernet is generally more stable and less prone to issues.

Reminders - READ

Case submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.

Some regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online

Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty.  Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.

HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.

If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.

Important

HP Phone numbers you find on the Internet have likely been hijacked. Old HP phone numbers – for example, those numbers no longer used by HP since the move to “online” case submissions – might have been taken over by thieves.
