Hi @zack611,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer printing blank pages!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Follow these troubleshooting steps:
Basic Checks
- Ensure the printer has enough black and color ink (even if printing in black only, some HP printers require both).
- Remove and reinstall the cartridges to ensure they are properly seated.
- Use genuine HP ink cartridges, as third-party ones may not work correctly.
Clean the Printhead
Use Printer's Cleaning Utility
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup → Printer Maintenance → Clean Printhead.
- The printer will run a cleaning cycle. Try printing again.
Manually Clean the Printhead
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and the printhead.
- Let them dry completely before reinstalling.
Check Print Settings
- On your computer, go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers → Right-click on your printer → Printer Properties.
- Ensure the Paper Type is set correctly (Plain Paper for regular printing).
- Check that Grayscale Printing is disabled if you want color prints.
Run a Print Test
Print a Test Page
- On the printer, go to Setup → Reports → Print Quality Report.
- If the page is blank or faded, the issue is likely with the ink system.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the printer while turned on and wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Uninstall the HP printer software from your computer.
- Download the latest drivers from HP’s website.
- Install the new drivers and restart your computer.
