I just replaced the black ink cartridge with HP ink and it is just not printing any black at all. I went through all the recommended cleanings, pulled it out and put it back, on and off again, etc any ideas what to do next? I have 1 week of school left and I am in the middle of printing pictures for the kids memory book!

Hi @DawnTomlin2020,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's frustrating when printer issues disrupt important tasks, especially when you're in the middle of something crucial like printing memories for your students. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
Check Cartridge Installation: Make sure the black ink cartridge is properly installed. Sometimes, even a slight misalignment can cause issues.
Check for Protective Tape: Ensure that you've removed any protective tape or seals from the cartridge. Sometimes, people forget to remove these, which can obstruct ink flow.
Run Printer Diagnostic: Many printers come with built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify and resolve common issues. Check your printer's manual or online resources for instructions on how to run diagnostics.
Check Ink Levels: Verify that the new cartridge is not empty. Sometimes, cartridges can be defective or have insufficient ink, despite being new.
Try a Different Cartridge: If possible, try using a different black ink cartridge to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem lies with the cartridge itself or with the printer.
Clean Printhead Manually: If the printer has a removable printhead, you can try cleaning it manually using a lint-free cloth and distilled water. Be careful not to use alcohol or other harsh chemicals, as they can damage the printhead.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
