Hi @san22
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with a "Supply System Problem" on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015, which typically indicates an issue with the ink system or cartridges, especially the cyan ink in your case. Since you've already gone through the troubleshooting steps, let's go over a few additional things you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check the Cyan Ink Cartridge
- Remove and Reinstall: First, carefully remove the cyan ink cartridge from the printer and inspect it for any visible damage or leaks. Reinstall it and make sure it's seated properly in the printer.
- Replace the Cyan Cartridge: If the cyan cartridge is old, empty, or damaged, you might need to replace it. Even if the ink levels are full, a cartridge can still fail to function properly if it's defective.
- Check for Protective Tape: Ensure that the protective plastic tape or cover on the new ink cartridge has been fully removed. This tape is often missed and can block ink flow.
2. Clean the Printhead
- Clean the Printhead Manually: A clogged printhead can prevent ink from flowing properly. Most HP printers have a cleaning function that can be accessed from the printer’s settings, either via the printer’s control panel or through the HP software on your computer. Run the printhead cleaning cycle a few times to see if that helps.
- Manual Cleaning: If the automatic cleaning doesn't work, you can try manually cleaning the printhead. Gently wipe the printhead (the small metal contacts on the cartridge) with a lint-free cloth or paper towel soaked in warm water. Make sure not to touch the ink nozzles with your fingers to avoid contamination.
3. Check the Ink Cartridge Chips and Contacts
- Ink Cartridge Chip: Ensure the chip on the cyan ink cartridge is not damaged. If the chip is dirty or has poor contact with the printer, the printer may fail to detect the cartridge properly. Wipe the chip gently with a soft cloth to remove any dirt or debris.
- Clean the Contacts: Check the printer’s cartridge contacts (where the ink cartridge makes contact with the printer). Use a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab dipped in water to gently clean the electrical contacts inside the printer.
4. Reset the Printer
- Perform a soft reset on the printer to clear any temporary errors. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- If the issue persists, try a factory reset. This will restore all settings to default and can sometimes resolve more complex issues. Be aware that a factory reset will erase any custom settings, so you will need to set up the printer again.
5. Check for Firmware Updates
- Update Printer Firmware: Outdated firmware can cause a variety of issues, including problems with ink cartridges. Go to the HP website or use the HP Smart app to check for any firmware updates available for your printer. Follow the instructions to update the firmware if needed.
6. Test Cyan Ink with a Diagnostic Page
- Print a Diagnostic or Test Page: Most HP printers allow you to print a diagnostic or test page directly from the printer’s menu. This can help you verify if the cyan ink is working properly and if the printer is correctly recognizing the cartridge.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
