Hi @SouravGupta

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like the black ink isn't drying properly on photo paper, while the color ink is fine. This issue is often related to ink absorption, paper compatibility, or print settings. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

1. Check Paper Type

  • Ensure you're using HP Advanced Photo Paper or another high-quality photo paper designed for inkjet printers.
  • Some glossy papers may not absorb black ink properly, leading to smearing.

2. Adjust Print Settings

  • In your printer settings, select Best Quality or Photo Printing Mode.
  • Try changing the paper type setting to match the exact paper you're using.

3. Run a Printhead Cleaning

  • Go to your printer’s maintenance settings and run a printhead cleaning cycle.
  • If the issue persists, try a deep cleaning cycle.

4. Allow Ink to Dry

  • After printing, let the photo sit for a few minutes before handling.
  • Avoid stacking freshly printed photos immediately.

5. Check Ink Levels

  • Low black ink levels can cause improper ink distribution.
  • Ensure the black ink tank is filled properly.

6. Try a Different Black Ink Cartridge

  • If possible, test with a new HP black ink cartridge to rule out a faulty one.

Let me know if any of these steps help!
