photosmart C4680 prining double or with a shadow

My photosmart C4680 is printing a double image or with a shadow. I have Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6.  Previous posted advice in 2021 (perform root level uninstallation, download and install driver, and update printer firmware) is for Windows only.
